YouTube clip feature not working — fix the share-a-clip flow
You click "Clip" in the video's share menu to create a shareable short clip, but the clip dialog won't open, won't save, or saves but the resulting clip URL is broken.
Why this happens
- Creator disabled clipping for this specific video.
- You're signed out — clip creation requires an account.
- Channel is age-gated or restricted — clipping disabled.
- Live stream replay — clipping has different availability on these.
- YouTube's clipping API had a regional outage.
How to fix it

Verify clipping is enabled
Look at the share menu — if "Clip" doesn't appear at all (not greyed, just missing), the creator disabled it. Per-video setting; nothing you can do.

Sign in to YouTube
Clipping requires an account. Anonymous viewers can't create clips.

Use a downloader for time-range extraction
