Is downloading from YouTube legal?
It depends on the video and your jurisdiction. Personal use of public content for offline viewing is generally accepted in many places, but redistributing copyrighted material without permission isn't. Use VidPickr for content you have the right to download.
Do you support YouTube Shorts and youtu.be links?
Yes. Both /shorts/ links and shortened youtu.be URLs work the same as a regular watch?v= link.
Will my downloads have a watermark?
No. We don't re-encode video, so there's nothing to brand. The output is the original stream YouTube serves, merged 1:1 with the audio track.
Does VidPickr work on iPhone or iPad?
It works in any modern browser, including Safari on iPhone and iPad. iOS Safari handles the streaming download natively.
What happens to my data?
Almost nothing. The video and audio bytes never touch our servers — they stream from YouTube directly to your browser, get muxed locally, and save to your disk. The only thing our metadata API sees is the URL you ask about. Free downloads are anonymous; Plus accounts store the email you signed up with and your billing record (Stripe), nothing else. We don't log download history, video IDs, or watch behaviour. Download tokens self-expire in 10 minutes.
