Why VidPickr is different from every other YouTube downloader
Most online YouTube to MP4 converters work the same way: you hand them a link, they download the video on their own server, transcode it, then offer you a copy. That model means queues, watermarks, paywalls for higher resolutions, and an upload of your chosen video to their infrastructure.
VidPickr flips that on its head. The browser fetches the video and audio streams directly, then merges them in JavaScript using mp4-muxer. Nothing is uploaded. Nothing is transcoded server-side. Can I download YouTube videos in 4K?
If the original upload is 2160p or higher, the 4K row appears in the format list and downloads in source quality. We don't gate higher resolutions behind payment.

Can I download YouTube subtitles or transcripts?

How do I trim a YouTube video and download just a clip?
Click the clip range panel above the format list, set start and end times, then choose any video or audio format. The trim is applied before the file is written, so you only download the slice you asked for.
Is downloading from YouTube legal?
It depends on the video and your jurisdiction. Personal use of public content for offline viewing is generally accepted in many places, but redistributing copyrighted material without permission isn't. Use VidPickr for content you have the right to download.
Do you support YouTube Shorts and youtu.be links?
Yes. Both /shorts/ links and shortened youtu.be URLs work the same as a regular watch?v= link.
Will my downloads have a watermark?
No. We don't re-encode video, so there's nothing to brand. The output is the original stream YouTube serves, merged 1:1 with the audio track.
